Useful Phone Numbers
You might have a healthy ‘no-news-no-shoes’ attitude to taking a holiday, but sometimes it really is necessary to keep in touch with the folks back home.
Public phones are plentiful in Cork and you can buy international calling cards in post offices, shops and hotels.
If you want to use your mobile phone while you’re here, make sure you have a digital phone with a GSM subscription and a roaming agreement. Ask your phone provider at home what calls and internet use on your mobile will cost while you’re away.
If you need to call any of the emergency services during your stay, dial 999 or 112 for ambulance, fire brigade, police or other rescue services.
Directory Enquiries can be reached at 11811 for Irish numbers or 11818 for international numbers.
