Gay Cork

The gay scene in Cork is small, with a strong sense of community, but also very welcoming to visitors. Gay Cork is a very active group that organises a wide range of activities for gay people living in or visiting the area.

There are several gay bars and clubs in the city, including Instinct on Sullivan’s Quay; Loafers on Douglas Street; Flux on McCurtain Street, and Ruby’s on Hanover Street. Cork’s best pubs and clubs are all gay-friendly too and members of the gay community are active in various aspects of life in the city.

For accommodation in the city try Roman House on Upper John Street or Æmerson House off McCurtain Street. Outside the city, Templenoe House in Fermoy has views over the River Blackwater. It also has two self-catering cottages.

Amazonia Women’s B&B is on the coast road in Fountainstown, about half-an-hour from the city centre. http://www.gaycork.com
