Dancing thru the Ages

The Nina In Me
July 15th to September 13th
The Nina In Me - Karen Underwood’s one-woman show. The African-American singer, known locally as “The Chicago Diva,” will perform Nina Simone’s timeless songs including Ain’t Got No, My Baby Just Cares For Me, Here Comes the Sun and Feeling Good. These will be interwoven with Karen’s searingly honest tales of growing up black in America.

Tango Sundays
Sunday, 10th August 2008
Definitely not a day of rest! Sunday nights in the Half Moon will begin with a performance by a live three-piece band and professional “tango Nuevo” dancers. Then everyone will be invited onto the dance floor to show off their tango skills and to learn new ones from the dancers who will circulate among the crowd.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!

Following a sell-out run in the Cork Arts Theatre, off-Broadway’s longest-running musical comedy, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!, transfers to the Half Moon Theatre. Described as “Seinfield set to music,” the show explores everything you secretly thought about dating, marriage and romance – but were afraid to admit!

Via Dolorosa
September 22nd - October 4th
Last in the Summer @ the Half Moon Theatre series is the penetrating political drama, Via Dolorosa, by the acclaimed British playwright, David Hare. Actor Rod Goodall plays a writer who embarks on a journey to Israel and Palestine, where he explores the ideologies and emotions of the region, as well as his own values, and those of Western civilization. From Decadent Theatre Company and Galway Arts Centre, opens on Monday 22 September.
